The name

«Olmos» is Uzbek for «diamond»; the word was borrowed from Persian. According to Wikipedia, the station is named after a nearby street of the same name, and Yashnobod district also has an Olmos mahalla. In the project the station was called Iltifot — it stands at the junction of Ohangaron highway and Iltifot street.
