About the station
Named after Yunusobod district — one of the most densely populated in Tashkent, for which the whole line was built. The walls show views of old and modern Tashkent. Its platform is curved: the only station in the Tashkent metro with a curved platform.
The name
The station is named after Tashkent's Yunusobod district, where it is located. In the design stage it was called «Fayzulla Xoʻjayev».
Design
A row of relief columns runs down the middle of the platform. Pictures of modern and ancient Tashkent hang at the entrance, and the track walls carry six screen compositions.
History
Construction resumed in 2016 after a long halt caused by groundwater. On 18 December 2019 heavy rain caused the slope of a pit on the line's construction site to collapse, killing six workers. The station was completed in June 2020 and opened on 29 August together with Turkiston.
Fun fact
The platform of this station is not straight but curved — the station was built on a bend in the line.
