About the station
Located in Sergeli district, the station opened in December 2020 together with the whole overground section of the line. It received the permanent name «Sergeli» in 2023. A covered overground station with an island platform, an escalator and a lift.
The name
The station is named after Sergeli district, where it stands. The name «Sergeli» was already in the line's project and was officially approved on 9 August 2023.
Design
A covered overground station with an island platform 102 m long. The main lobby on the north side has a three-lane escalator, and the south side has a lift. Exits lead to Mirzo Tursunzoda and Mehrigiyo streets, next to the Sergeli-7 bus terminus.
History
The station opened on 26 December 2020 on the overground Sergeli section: 7 km of track and five stations that let people ride from Sergeli to the centre without changing. The section was built in 2017–2020. Until 2023 the station was called «3-bekat» («Station 3»).
Fun fact
In the first days after opening, rides on the new section's stations were free until the morning of 1 January 2021.
